Who Is Victoire In Harry Potter

Victoire Weasley was a part-Veela witch and the eldest child in the next generation of the Potter-Weasley extended family. She was the eldest granddaughter of Arthur and Molly Weasley. Her father, Bill Weasley, was the eldest son of Arthur and Molly Weasley and was married to Fleur Delacour during the Second Wizarding War and before the Battle of Hogwarts. Victoire Weasley was born on May 2nd in the year 2000.

Her name “Victoire” meant “Victory” in French. She was named so because she was born on the second anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, in which Harry Potter and his allies defeated the Dark Wizard Lord Voldemort. Interestingly, she was the last character to be introduced in the Harry Potter book series.

Victoire Weasley had two siblings: a younger sister named Dominique Weasley and their younger brother, Louis Weasley. She was first mentioned in the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows when James Sirius Potter saw her kissing Teddy Lupin, the son of Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks on Platform Nine and Three Quarters, near the Hogwarts Express when she was going to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Lily Luna Potter, her cousin, and James’s younger sister, seemed too excited at the prospect of Teddy Lupin dating Victoire and wanted him to end up marrying her.

Birth and Childhood

Victoire Weasley was born on 2 May 2000 to Bill Weasley and Fleur Weasley (née Delacour). She was one-eighth Veela as her great-grandmother and Fleur’s grandmother was a Veela herself. She was the eldest granddaughter to the Weasleys and was most likely born and brought up in the Shell Cottage, where Bill and Fleur lived after their wedding. She was close to most of her cousins and, as the eldest among them, was probably a responsible elder sister to her siblings and other cousins.

The 2014 Quidditch World Cup

Victoire was seen in the stands during the 2014 Quidditch World Cup. It is said that she seemed very interested in spending time with Teddy Lupin, and was even mentioned in a separate column by Rita Skeeter. Rita Skeeter claimed that the two were seen kissing each other during the match on several occasions. After a while, her father, Bill was said to sit in between the two for a while until they found adjacent seats again and continued being in close proximity for the rest of the match. She had already started studying in Hogwarts by the time the World Cup took place.

Hogwarts

Victoire Weasley joined Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 2011. She boarded the Hogwarts Express on September 1st, as is customary, and reached the castle where the Sorting Ceremony took place. She was sorted into Gryffindor house. At Hogwarts, she was a very talented student and probably excelled in Quidditch, as both her parents were very talented. In her first year, she may have met her future boyfriend, Teddy Lupin, in Hogwarts, who was already studying at Hogwarts when Victoire joined. Interestingly, they were fourth cousins to each other as they were both descendants of Phineas Nigellus Black.

Victoire’s cousin James Potter saw her kissing Teddy Lupin and came to Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny at Platform Nine and Three Quarters to tell them about it. This was in the year 2017 when Albus Potter, Rose Granger-Weasley, and Scorpius Malfoy, the son of Draco, were all starting their first years at Hogwarts for the first time.

Victoire graduated from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 2018. She most likely joined the Ministry of Magic like her father Bill, or decided to do some other job. Very little is known about Victoire’s later life.

Interesting Trivia about Victoire’s Character

It is possible that Victoire was a tribute to the Lord of the Rings series character Elanor Gamgee, who was the daughter of Samwise Gamgee and Rosie Cotton. Elanor was born on the anniversary of the downfall of Sauron, the Dark Lord, and was considered to be very beautiful, as was Victoire. It is possible that J. K. Rowling may have paid homage to Elanor Gamgee through Victoire.

Furthermore, Victoire had a lot in common with her aunt Ginny Potter (née Weasley). Both women were born into a Weasley family and fell in love with an orphan whose parents were killed during a war. Harry’s parents, James Potter and Lily Potter (née Evans), were killed by Lord Voldemort during the First Wizarding War. Teddy’s parents, Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks, were killed during the Battle of Hogwarts during the Second Wizarding War. Interestingly, Harry Potter was the godfather of Teddy Lupin.
