On July 20, 2023, YNG Cheese was one of three people shot in Philadelphia, according to a report from NBC Philadelphia.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been verified by authorities, but a family friend told the media that the guy was YNG Cheese.

Their condition is stated to be stable.
Police said one of the victims rushed to a neighboring house, and they later found 10 shot casings at the location.
No one has been taken into custody, and no weapons have been found.
