On July 20, 2023, YNG Cheese was one of three people shot in Philadelphia, according to a report from NBC Philadelphia.
Police said the incident happened at 8:24 p.m. on Mascher Street in the city’s 5800 block.

He may have been shot in the back; the police took him to the hospital, where he later died at 8:39 p.m.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been verified by authorities, but a family friend told the media that the guy was YNG Cheese.
Two other males, ages 28 and 31, were shot and hospitalized after the incident.
Their condition is stated to be stable.
Police said one of the victims rushed to a neighboring house, and they later found 10 shot casings at the location.
No one has been taken into custody, and no weapons have been found.
