A teacher has allegedly been killed by her long-distance boyfriend during a weekend visit that turned violent.
Emily Lambert, a third grade teacher, traveled from her hometown in Garland, Texas to Carlsbad, New Mexico to visit her boyfriend Robert Earley on Friday after school let out.
He called her parents on Sunday morning saying that he was concerned because they had a fight the night before and she stormed out but never returned.
Police later determined that he not only got into a violent altercation with her where he was staying but he went on to brutally beat her more after taking her to a remote place.
Earley reportedly got in a fight with Lambert, a 30-year-old elementary school teacher who had two daughters from a previous relationship, after another man had been flirting with her at a bar that night.
The couple got into a fight in his home and she bit him before he kicked her in the mouth multiple times and punched her.
The Fox News affiliate in Dallas reports that she became unconscious and he loaded her into her car before driving off to an undisclosed remote location.
She woke up at some point during the drive and he attacked her with an air pump that was in his vehicle.
He then tied a rope around her neck and dragged her behind the car.
He eventually left her unconscious behind a metal sheet, only to return the next morning to find that she was dead.
That morning, he began to try to cover his tracks, calling up her parents and saying that they had gotten in a fight the night before and she had never returned.

Her body was found Monday and Earley, an oil rig worker, has now been charged with murder, tampering with evidence and being a fugitive from justice.
Her parents told Fox4News that they last spoke to her on Saturday and she seemed to be having a good time.
The Dallas Morning News reports that Earley confirmed to police that they had a nice day before their fight, spending their time sightseeing and shopping.
Police initially told them that it was clear how she had died but did not tell them the circumstances surrounding her death.
Before knowing the extent that Earley was involved, they kept an open mind and did not immediately suspect him.
Lambert’s father Steven Koenig told how Earley was the one to call them and tell them that she had ‘disappeared’.
‘He says “Emily’s missing.” He said they’d had a little tiff and she walked out on him at midnight and he’d been up pacing the floors since five in the morning and she never came back,’ Mr Koenig said.
‘She’s been dating him for a couple of- three or four months,’ her mother Donna Koenig said.
‘I mean we know him we met him and had dinner with him… We don’t really have any reason to believe that he’s being untruthful.’
Earley also tried to throw the police off the scent by telling them that she was attacked by another man.
According to the first version of events that he told police, Earley said taht Lambert told him another man had been hitting on her while they were at the Blue Cactus Lounge, the bar at the hotel where
Earley had been living while in Carlsbad. He admitted that they had a fight over the issue.
Footage from the hotel shows that they left the lounge separately- with Lambert leaving before Earley.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, then told police that by the time he got to his hotel room, he realized she had gotten in her car and wouldn’t leave so he kicked the door.
He allegedly went back to his room and when he came back out to her car he saw her getting in a truck with an unidentified ‘big guy wearing a light colored cowboy hat’.
The convoluted tale continued, with Earley claiming that he then followed the truck in his car, got into an altercation with the man who tried swinging a pipe at him but accidentally hit Lambert. At that point he fled the scene and had no idea what happened to the mother-of-two.
Upon futher questioning, Earley admitted that there was no other man involved in her death, and he loaded her unconscious body into his Hyundai Elantra after beating her in his hotel room.
The attack continued with the air pump when she regained consciousness and he then dragged her behind the car before ditching her.
He said that he went back to check on her the next day but found that she was dead so he left her body there.
On Tuesday he took police to the site where he dumped the body and they found her corpse, naked except for a bra.
Lambert had two daughters named Eden and Danika, ages 4 and 5, from a previous relationship and she appears to have maintained a friendly relationship with their father.
Her ex, Donovan Lambert, was recently featured in a hidden camera show where he stood up for a lesbian couple that was being harassed in a reality set up.
She posted a link to the clip in November and wrote: ‘I am thankful my daughters have a man like this as their father. Thank you Donovan for being an example they can be proud of.’
He posted a photo of Emily on Monday, the day that her body was found in New Mexico.
Her parents, who lost their older son in a car accident several years ago, created a dedicated Facebook page during the search and have since updated it after learning that she was dead.
‘The essence of Emily is with God. Our family thanks each and everyone one of you for your outpouring of love, prayers, and support over the last few days,’ they wrote shortly after learning that she was dead but not knowing how she was killed.
They have set up a memorial fund for her children.
