Who Lives At 3313 Turkeyfoot Road

Back in 2010, high-powered lawyer Joseph P. Thomas doled out a mere $818,000 for a sprawling hilltop property in the the northern Kentucky city of Edgewood, just 15 minutes from downtown Cincinnati.

The chairman of Ulmer & Berne’s Life Sciences Group—who is touted as one of the nation’s leading advocates in class-action, multi-district, and mass-tort litigation involving drugs and medical devices—subsequently spent many millions more to custom-build a French chateau-inspired mansion, which rests on 7 acres near Summit Hills Country Club.

After first trying to sell the spread for a speck under $9 million in July 2021, the home returned to the market last summer at the exact same price, before eventually dropping to $6.9 million. Now Thomas has decided to auction off the place with no reserve in collaboration with DeCaro Auctions International.

Completed in 2013 by Tim Burks Builder, and hidden away behind a gated driveway dotted with gas lamps, the extravagant limestone structure features six bedrooms and eight baths spread across 15,000 square feet of Grace Jones-designed living space adorned throughout with five fireplaces, intricate millwork, and gold and copper leaf accents.

A massive Gothic-style leaded front door opens into a grand double-height foyer displaying a winding wrought-iron staircase embellished with crystal. From there, a soaring living room boasts a cathedral ceiling, fireplace and French doors spilling outside. There’s also a formal dining room topped by a pair of crystal chandeliers, as well as a gourmet kitchen outfitted with an eat-in island, top-tier stainless appliances and an accompanying breakfast nook.

Particularly standing out is the master retreat, which is decked out with a fireside sitting area and sunroom, along with a marble bath sporting dual vanities and a soaking tub; and elsewhere is a “hidden” office space, maple-paneled library spanning two levels, movie theater and wet bar-equipped lounge/game room with walls of glass spilling out to a covered porch.

Outdoors, the manicured grounds are laced with gardens, and host an infinity-edge pool and spa flanked by a pool house with separate living quarters, plus a fountain-clad pond lined with an arched stone monument wall. There also are two oversized garages that can accommodate up to four vehicles.

Private previews of the property began Sept. 23, and are available every Saturday and Sunday, as well as the day before the Oct. 14 auction.
