Who Makes Parent Choice Diapers

Have you recently walked down the diaper aisle at Walmart? Notice anything different? I have! Parent’s Choice diapers are one of my favorites. And for a short time, I was having a difficult time finding them at any Walmart store. Fast forward a few weeks and there they were. New and improved! So of course I snagged a box and rushed home to try them out.

In this blog, I will be reviewing the new Parent’s Choice diapers and comparing them to the old diapers. What’s changed? What’s new? Are the new diapers better? Let’s find out!

Price and Size:

Parent’s Choice has many quantity options for their packages, going as low as 5 diapers per pack, all the way up to 228 diapers per pack. Something new that they did, that I absolutely love, is that they’ve added travel packs! Travel packs are great for testing. Sometimes you dont want to invest in a full box before buying. Or invest in a box that’s the wrong size. With travel packs, you are able to test the brand and size first before investing. So I am very happy Parent’s Choice added this.

Speaking of money, price wise, everything has remained relatively the same. Price ranges between $4.42 per pack up to $23.32 per box and only $0.98 for a travel pack of 5 diapers. No noticeable changes in my total when I check out at the store. When you do the math, for most boxes, you’re paying about 10-11 cents per diaper, which is a steal!

Parents Choice also offers training pants and overnight diapers. Overnight diapers range between size 4 – 6 and cost $13.16. Training pants range between sizes 3T – 5T and cost between $12 a pack up to $24.84 a box depending on quantity size.

Diaper Features

As per usual with most brands, a box comes with two diaper designs. The designs vary depending on the size of the diaper you are purchasing.

Similar to the older diapers, the size of the diaper is included in the design, and the words “front” and “back”. They also include the wetness indicator strip.

Texture-wise, they’re very soft and I didn’t notice a change in feel or quality with these new models.

The leg cuffs have a good stretch to hug around your baby’s thighs snuggly and securely. On the fastening tabs, I noticed they have a lot more stretch than the older diaper. There’s also an elastic feel to the very back band of the diaper, which would help with conforming to your child’s waist.

For the actual core of the diaper, I noticed something. The core has one thick pad all the way through, which is very absorbent. And that is how the Parent’s Choice works for sizes 5 and below. For sizes 6 and up, the core contains 3 absorbing pads that run through the whole diaper. For this review though, I’m using size 5’s, so keep that in mind when buying this brand for your little one! Comparing the new model to its older make, they still hold up really well. I haven’t encountered a drop in their ability to hold my daughter well.

How did they fit?

Like all diaper brands, they recommend a size based on weight. For me, this is always a hit or miss. For the most part, my daughter is using a size outside of the recommended weight. When my daughter was about 25 pounds, we bought her size 5’s. Which says the child has to be 27 pounds and over. They fit her perfectly. Once she reached the recommended weight for the diapers, 27 through 33 pounds, we noticed the diapers became a bit too snug, meaning they ran small. From that point forward, we always bought one size bigger than recommended and I suggest you do the same for your child. This was something I discovered before the change in diaper models and it has not changed since they’ve introduced their new line.

What’s New With Parent’s Choice?

A new feature is a “next size” located on top of the diaper. It is there to let you know if you need to size up. If your little one fills up the diaper to those indicators, that’s your sign you need to go up one size. Another indicator that it’s time to up the size is the waistbands. If the bands stop reaching those indicators, it’s also another sign you need to move up a size. There’s even a little diagram on the box to show you if your baby is good in their size or not. Very neat!

A downer for this brand is no ingredients. Many other brands have started to list the ingredients used in their diapers either on the box or online. Parent’s Choice has neither. They do show, however, that they’re hypoallergenic by not including latex, lotion, or perfume. And I can attest to this being true, as my daughter has eczema and sensitive skin and has never broken out or gotten a rash while using these diapers.

Final Thoughts

To sum it up, I was a huge fan of Parent’s Choice diapers in the past and I am still a huge fan now. They are good quality, they rarely leak, they hold my daughter well, don’t irritate her skin and they don’t hurt my wallet. Just remember that they do run small so when purchasing, I recommend starting off with their travel packs. Purchase a few different sizes to start, then jump into a full box.
