Who Owns The Garfield Weston Foundation

Sir Guy Weston

Guy Weston has been Chairman of Wittington Investments Limited and the Garfield Weston Foundation since 2000. Guy’s career began in investment banking before he moved to Associated British Foods plc as Managing Director of Jacksons of Piccadilly and then The Ryvita Co. Guy studied at Oxford University and INSEAD.

Emma Adamo

Emma Adamo graduated from Stanford University and has an MBA from INSEAD. She is a Director of ABF and Trustee of the Weston Family Foundation in Canada, having formerly been its Chair.

Sir Harry Djanogly

Sir Harry joined the WIL board in 2009 as a non-executive director. His background is in the textiles industry where he built and ran Coats Viyella and predecessor companies. He has extensive experience as a non-executive of public and private companies and is a well-known philanthropist with particular focus in education and the arts.

Martin Hattrell

Martin Hattrell was educated at Ampleforth College, Yorkshire and read Literae Humaniores at The Queen’s College, Oxford. After Oxford he studied law at The College of Law and undertook his articles at Slaughter and May, qualifying in 1987. Martin was a partner at Slaughter and May from May 1994 until May 2019 practising as a corporate lawyer and prior to his retirement from the firm was head of one of its corporate groups. He joined the Wittington Board in July 2018 and became Wittington’s General Counsel in June 2019.

Kate Hobhouse

Kate Hobhouse graduated from Bristol University and has worked across all departments in Fortnum & Mason before becoming a Director in 1998, non-executive-Director in 2005 and has been Chair of the F&M Board since 2008. Kate joined the Wittington Board in October 2000 and is also a Trustee of the Garfield Weston Foundation.

Charles Mason

Charles joined Wittington in 2001 and is responsible for the investment strategy. Before joining he worked in investment banking in both M&A and equity research for BZW and as a management consultant for Braxton Associates/Deloitte Consulting. Charles studied Economics at Durham University and gained an MBA (Beta Gamma Sigma) from Columbia Business School. Charles joined the board in 2012.

Lindsay Pearson

Lindsay joined the Wittington board as Chief Financial Officer in 2021. Prior to this, he was CFO of Oxford University and held divisional Finance Director positions at Centrica plc and British Telecom following an early career in management consulting with PwC. Lindsay is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a graduate of Oxford University.

Alannah Weston

Alannah was Creative Director of Selfridges before becoming Chairman of Selfridges Group from 2019-2022 (including Selfridges, Brown Thomas Arnotts and Holt Renfrew). She is a trustee of Garfield Weston Foundation and the Reta Lila Foundation, as well as chairing the Galen and Hilary Weston Foundation which funds scientific research and support for those suffering from the brain diseases of aging. She also serves on the Board of Wittington Investments, Limited in Canada.

Garth Weston

After several years of living and working in Shanghai for ABM Foods (Beijing) Co Ltd Garth returned to the UK and joined the Fortnum & Mason Board and in 2015 joined the Wittington Board. Previously Garth had worked in a number of other businesses within ABF including Ryvita. Garth studied engineering at Newcastle University and has an MBA from INSEAD.

George Weston

George is Chief Executive of ABF, a post he has held since 2005, holding the role of deputy Chairman before that. In his former roles at ABF, George was Managing Director of Westmill Foods, Allied Bakeries and George Weston Foods Ltd (Australia). George studied PPE at Oxford and was a Baker Scholar at Harvard Business School and is a Trustee of the Garfield Weston Foundation. George joined the Wittington Investments Board in August 1993.

Graham Weston

Graham Weston has spearheaded technology, business, and real estate development in Texas for over 30 years. Graham was a founder and later CEO and Chairman of Rackspace Managed Hosting, now Rackspace Technology, Inc.. Today Graham owns the flourishing real estate concern Weston Urban and is CEO of Weston Ventures. Graham has a special interest in science and education. His personal mission is to create constructive environments for start-ups and entrepreneurs to flourish in Texas through his philanthropic work at his 80/20 Foundation. Graham graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Dept. of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M.
