Who Played For The Browns And Bengals

There is a good chance that if you’ve found this page then you’re playing the Immaculate Grid.

That also means that today’s grid has asked for players that have played for both the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals.

And, it also means that you’re probably stuck on this particular box and you’re looking for a little help. Sound about right so far?

Well, good news, you’re in the right place.

I’ve done some research and have found players who played for both the Browns and the Bengals.

Andrew Hawkins

Andrew Hawkins played college football at the University of Toledo. After going undrafted in the 2008 NFL Draft, he began his career in the CFL with the Montreal Alouettes. His time in the CFL proved valuable, earning him a Grey Cup championship in 2009 and showcasing his ability on a professional stage.

Hawkins made his way back to the United States and signed with the St. Louis Rams, but it was with the Cincinnati Bengals that he found his footing. Between 2011 and 2013, he became a reliable slot receiver for the Bengals, often leveraging his speed and agility to make plays in open space.

In 2014, he signed with the Cleveland Browns and continued to produce as a receiver, leading the team in receptions and receiving yards in his first year there. However, injuries would eventually slow him down, leading to his decision to retire after the 2016 season.

James Brooks

James Brooks had an impressive NFL career as a running back, highlighted by his time with the Cincinnati Bengals from 1984 to 1991. Selected 24th overall in the 1981 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers, Brooks was eventually traded to Cincinnati where he truly shined.

He was known for his dual-threat ability as both a runner and receiver. In his career, Brooks recorded 7962 rushing yards and 49 rushing touchdowns, along with 3621 receiving yards and 30 receiving touchdowns.

Brooks was a 4-time Pro Bowl selection and helped lead the Bengals to Super Bowl XXIII, though they, unfortunately, lost to the San Francisco 49ers.

Jason Campbell

Jason Campbell was selected by the Washington Football Team in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft, 25th overall. He played over a 10-year NFL career, spending time with Washington, the Oakland Raiders, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Bengals.

Campbell’s NFL career included 79 starts in 90 total games, during which he threw for 16,771 yards, 87 touchdowns, and 60 interceptions. His best season came in 2009 with Washington, when he passed for 3,618 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Though Campbell never reached the elite status some anticipated, he served as a solid starting quarterback and later a veteran backup, known for his strong arm and leadership on and off the field.

Bruce Gradkowski

Bruce Gradkowski, a quarterback with a journeyman career in the NFL, played from 2006 to 2012.

Initially drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 6th round of the 2006 NFL Draft, Gradkowski also had stints with the Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

In 37 games over his career, Gradkowski threw for 4,057 yards with a completion percentage of 52.9%. He recorded 21 touchdowns and 24 interceptions.
