Brothers Osborne Wins Duo of the Year at the CMA Awards

Brothers Osborne stole the show at the 2023 CMA Awards by reclaiming the coveted title of Duo of the Year. TJ and John Osborne graced the Bridgestone Arena stage on Wednesday night (November 8) to accept the prestigious award. Their acceptance speech was filled with gratitude towards their fellow nominees, fans, and loved ones. This marks their fifth win in the category since 2015, a testament to their undeniable talent and hard work.

Despite their consistent success, the brothers admit that they are still surprised and nervous each year. TJ Osborne confessed during a backstage interview, “I’m still just in shock. It’s hard to even process any of this at this moment.” The journey to the CMA Awards stage has been long and winding for Brothers Osborne, but they are grateful that they have never had to make that journey alone.

“I feel very grateful that we get to do it as brothers,” John Osborne shared. “We have each other, and he’s taught me a lot of things. I’ve taught him a lot of things. You know, we’re not beating each other up like we did when we were kids anymore. And now we’ve just found a great symbiotic thing.”

TJ chimed in, expressing his gratitude for having his brother by his side throughout their incredible experiences. “To have someone… my brother alongside me getting to experience all these ineffable things… it’s really, really cool.”

This year, Brothers Osborne’s win for Duo of the Year was their sole nomination and victory at the CMA Awards. On September 15, they released their phenomenal self-titled studio album, which showcases their creative brilliance.

Despite their recent achievements, the duo remains humble and appreciative of their success. John Osborne acknowledged, “We’ve had a great moment these last several years, but we still have spent the vast majority of our lives actually in actual obscurity. We really try to relish these moments that happen because, at some point, it will pass… I definitely don’t want to miss any of this every moment.”

The 57th annual CMA Awards took place on November 8, 2023, at the Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville. For a complete list of winners, visit here.
