Who Was Series The “Who Was/Is” series is a set of biographies about important people living or deceased aimed at kids. The series has two spinoffs, the “What Was” series and “Where Was” series. It began publication in the year 2002.

Books in the series were written by various writers like Pam Pollack, Douglas Yacka, James Buckley, Jr., Dennis Brindell Fradin, and Patricia Brennan Demuth.

“Who Was Amelia Earhart?” is a book in the “Who Was” series and was released in the year 2002. Amelia was a woman of several “firsts”. In the year 1932, she was the first woman that flew solo across the Atlantic Ocean. In the year 1935, she was also the first woman to fly across the Pacific.
