Who Was Taylor Tomlinson Engaged To

In her third stand-up special, “Have It All,” released Feb 13 on Netflix, comedian Taylor Tomlinson hilariously reflects on the hellscape of dating apps, introducing partners to your parents, her year of being single and trying to have it all.

2024 has been a big year for Tomlinson, who also took over James Corden’s previous late-night show: “The Late Late Show” on CBS.

Tomlinson’s show, “After Midnight,” premiered Jan. 16 and attempts to blend a typical talk show with a game show vibe.

A lot of Tomlinson’s charm comes from the fact that she is a relatable disaster; she has her fair share of dating app failures — like many of us.

In her special, she jokes about how every photo looks like a completely different person when swiping through a man’s profile. When you go on that first date, you’re hoping photo number three will walk through the door, but alas, it is photo number four.

Tomlinson’s tumultuous relationship with her parents is a recurring topic in her comedy.

In the special, she talks about what she hopes her partners take away from meeting her parents, joking about the desire for her partner to see how unhinged her parents are.

“Seems like now that we have all the information, turns out I could be a lot crazier if I wanted,” Tomlinson said.

Another theme of Tomlinson’s special was the milestone of turning 30 and ruminating on the balance between finding success in your career and having success in your relationships.

Although her friends in committed relationships may pity her for being single at 30, she couldn’t be happier living her dream as a stand-up comedian.

Having it all may not be possible, but she is extremely satisfied with herself.

One thing that sets Tomlinson apart from other stand-up acts is the incredible physicality she uses on stage. She rarely stands still during the set, her jokes are very high-energy and fast-paced, and her constant movement around the stage matches that energy.

Each joke also has its own unique set of arm movements, facial expressions and gait that adds extra emphasis to each punchline.

Since her most recent special, it is evident Tomlinson has been hustling to hone her craft. Her comedy has gotten snappier, and her crowd work in this special exemplifies this.

She effortlessly bantered with the audience as she crowdsourced for new and usual tips to get sleep, eventually improvising roast sessions when the audience members failed to give her tips she hadn’t heard.

Although Tomlinson returns to similar themes showcased in her last two specials, “Quarter-Life-Crisis” and “Look At You,” she keeps the stories fresh and engaging.

She often talks about her strange religious upbringing and this time, she decided to go with a simple tongue-in-cheek bit.

She jokes that she just learned this year that she doesn’t have to yell out “Thank you, Jesus!” when she orgasms.

Tomlinson is undoubtedly one to watch in the next few years. Between “Have It All” and her TV show, “After Midnight,” she seems to be a star on the rise.
