ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— Head Coach Mike Bradbury and staff have signed two players to National Letters of Intent for the 2023-24 season in Paris Lauro and Gianna McManaman.

In her junior year at Highland Park High School, Lauro was named the District 13 5A Offensive Player of the Year and to the TABC 5A All-Region Team after averaging 17.3 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game and two blocks per game. In addition, she earned academic all-district. This season, the forward was selected as a team captain.
At the 17U Adidas 3SSB Girls Championship circuit this past summer, Lauro was selected to the 3SSB All-American Camp and received a top-10 ranking for RPG at 7.3 and for BPG at 1.4 and earned the No. 1 ranking in scoring efficiency (points scored per possession) at 11.9 POS and 1.08 PPP by Synergy Sports.

Lauro intends to major in health and nutrition at UNM.

Gianna McManaman | 5-7 | PG | Chapel Hill, North Carolina
McManaman joins the Lobos from the Tar Heel State and Northwood High School, where she was a three-time conference champion, winning in 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22, and state champion after winning in 2021-22. Playing on the varsity team all four years, the point guard earned all-county and all-tournament and averaged 12 points per game, 5.0 assists per game, 4.0 rebounds per game and shot 43% from three-point range.

At the club level, she played for the Carolina Elite, Carolina All Stars and won the Run 4 Roses championship in 2019-20.
When she attends UNM, McManaman will be the fourth member of her family to attend New Mexico, joining her mother (Lia McManaman), grandfather (Robert Sanchez), and grandmother(Bonnie Sanchez).
On why UNM: I chose UNM because it’s home. The community feels like family and the campus is exhilarating to be on! Of course, I couldn’t forget mentioning the opportunity to play in The Pit.
She intends to major in psychology at UNM.
