In the 124th edition of America’s Game, Army beat Navy 17-11 in Boston for its second straight rivalry win. With the victory, the Black Knights earn outright possession of the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy for the first time in 2020.
Army took control from the beginning, with an interception setting up a touchdown drive. It had a 10-0 lead by halftime, but a Navy surge in the fourth nearly pulled off a comeback win, even with another Black Knight touchdown on a turnover. But the Midshipmen came up half a yard short from the goal line on 4th down, solidifying their rival’s win.

A game known for what happens on the ground and not through the air, Army had 205 rushing yards. Quarterback Bryson Daily had the second-most on the team with 84. Tai Lavatai was Navy’s focal point all day. He finished with all 179 passing yards as well as a team-best 74 rushing yards. Both Daily and Lavatai threw a touchdown pass.
The Midshipmen record their fourth straight losing season, but a 5-7 finish is still their best record since 2019. Army finishes an even 6-6 for the second straight year.
