The 50th Daytime Emmy Awards kicked off Friday night as the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences revealed the winners for the annual awards show at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
Entertainment Tonight’s very own Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner hosted the shindig where the best in television talent, hosting and programming was honored after the show was pushed from June due to the writer’s strike. But when things finally kicked off and it was all said and done, General Hospital came away the night’s biggest winner. The long-running daytime soap earned an Emmy for Drama Series, Directing Team for a Drama, Supporting Actor (Robert Gossett), Supporting Actress (Sonya Eddy), Younger Performer (Eden McCoy) and Guest Performance (Alley Mills).

All My Children star Susan Lucci was also honored with the Lifetime Achievement Honor.
The Bold and the Beautiful ran away with the Outstanding Actor (Thorsten Kaye) and Outstanding Actress in a Drama (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), while The Kelly Clarkson Show doubled up on the night with Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and Daytime Talk Series Host victories.
Entertainment Tonight also scored its eighth Emmy in the Outstanding Entertainment News Series category.
The Daytime Emmy Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts since 1974, honoring work in a variety of categories, including daytime dramas, talk shows, instructional programming, hosting, and legal/courtroom programs.
