Who Would Win Black Panther Or Namor

In terms of Marvel’s fictional rivalries, only a few can actually compare to the bitter one between Namor the Submariner, the ruler of Atlantis, and King T’Challa of Wakanda, better known as the Black Panther. This bitter rivalry has been explored in the comics by various authors over the years, but the comics haven’t really provided us with a winner. In this article, we are going to compare Namor and Black Panther to finally settle the issue of who the stronger character of the two is. Let’s see in a battle of Namor vs. Black Panther, who is stronger, and who wins in the comics.

Black Panther is stronger than Namor and would ultimately defeat him, although it would be a close fight. Namor is more physically imposing than T’Challa as he has superhuman powers. Still, T’Challa is a genius and an excellent martial artist, so he would probably come up with a tactical approach to defeat Namor in a direct fight, although it would be close.

The rest of this article will further elaborate on the above-given answer, as we are going to compare Namor and Black Panther in more detail. Through several categories, you are going to see who the stronger of the two is and why our answer is like it is, i.e., why Black Panther would ultimately defeat Namor in a fight.

Namor vs Black Panther: Strenght

Like all Atlanteans, Namor is superhumanly strong, but his physical strength is greater than that of any member of his superhuman race. The exact level of his strength depends on his physical contact with the water and his strength slowly decreases the longer he stays out of contact with it. Out of the water, Namor was able to defeat Luke Cage with ease and use her body as a club to knock out She-Hulk by surprising her from behind.

Under the water, he beat the Red Hulk and stopped him from reaching the surface until he KO’d him. Namor has even occasionally knocked out Savage Hulk, and has also had good performances against other powerful opponents such as Hercules. He was also able to stand up to Sentry for a while, but Emma Frost mentally convinced Sentry to stop, as Namor couldn’t win.

He has been seen several times lifting thousands of tons effortlessly. He once swam against a storm for a short time, continuing until he became dehydrated from that action. Furthermore, Namor’s physical prowess is so great that he has been called one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe. Namor’s strength was subsequently increased and far exceeds his normal levels.

The special herb has enhanced T’Challa’s physical strength to the pinnacle of human perfection. While not superhuman, he is considerably stronger than the average human being and is almost as strong as a human being without being considered superhuman. At its best, the Marvel Encyclopedia ranks it as capable of lifting just under 360 kilograms.

The strength in his legs allows him to jump vertically about 3 meters off the ground. He was able to stop a 1360-pound black rhino. He was seen easily lifting a grown man with one arm and throwing him, breaking a thin wall with one hand, and wrestling a 6-meter-long crocodile using both hands.

And while Black Panther is at the peak of human abilities, he is not superhuman like Namor. Due to his heritage and his mutations, Namor has superhuman strength and is, thus, stronger than Black Panther.

Points: Namor 1, Black Panther 0

Namor vs Black Panther: Durability

Namor’s advanced musculature produces considerably less lactic acid during physical activity than the musculature of normal humans and most other Atlanteans. At his peak, Namor can exercise physically for at least more than 24 hours before the buildup of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to damage him. Namor’s stamina, just like his strength, steadily decreases the longer he’s out of contact with the water, and will drop to the point where he’s only slightly more stamina than the best human athlete.

The tissues of Namor’s body are much harder and more resistant to physical injury than those of normal humans and most other Atlanteans. Namor can withstand tremendous impact forces, large caliber bullets falling from orbital heights, exposure to extreme temperatures and pressure blows from powerful superhumans, and blasts of energy without suffering injuries.

T’Challa’s musculature generates fewer fatigue toxins than the body of most humans. He can exert himself to the fullest of his abilities for about 1 hour before fatigue begins to debilitate him. His lung capacity is at the highest human level, allowing him to hold his breath underwater for 6 minutes. T’Challa’s ability to resist and recover from physical injury or disease is also at the pinnacle of human capabilities.

Although he is susceptible to illnesses and injuries, like any normal human being, his ability to resist and recover from them is far superior to that of most other humans. T’Challa can withstand blows from superhuman opponents such as Killmonger, who has the strength to overwhelm and kill an adult elephant with his bare hands.

T’Challa’s faster healing speed and his abilities allow him to have metabolism and immune system that allows him remarkably efficient healing. T’Challa’s stamina is about double that of an Olympic athlete. He continued to fight for thirteen hours against Killmonger despite him being exhausted.

Like with the previous category, Namor has superhuman durability, whereas Black Panther only has peak human durability. In that aspect, the difference between them is quite large, which is why Namor wins this point as well.

Points: Namor 2, Black Panther 0

Namor vs Black Panther: speed

Namor can run and move at faster speeds than even the finest human athlete. His speed is maximum, however, as he swims. While most Atlanteans can swim at speeds in excess of 60 miles per hour, Namor has been shown to be able to reach speeds of over 300 knots, around 555 kilometers per hour. Namor can also fly.

T’Challa is capable of running and moving faster than any Olympic athlete. He is capable of reaching speeds of 55 km / h. However, when he’s pushed to the limit, he can potentially run up to 72km / h.

Now, this was a very difficult category to analyze, since Namor is fas in water, while T’Challa is faster on land. This is why we decided to split the points in this category.

Points: Namor 3, T’Challa 1

Namor vs Black Panther: energy Projection

Without the help of his Trident, Namor is able to manipulate weather phenomena similar to Storm of the X-Men. He once caused heavy rain showers to put out Johnny Storm’s flame form in a short fight. Namor can absorb certain levels of radiation. His potential is unknown, but the full power of the Radioactive Man is enough to quickly drain him of his strength.

T’Challa learned that he could create weapons with spiritual force thanks to his title of King of the Dead. He can create a spear with ectoplasmic energy with which to influence both the material and the ethereal planes. After T’Challa’s exposure to Galactus’ mind due to his strange warp means on his spaceship, he began to experience visions in his dreams and in everyday life.

He began to perceive the events of the Universe and those outside it in the Multiverse. Additionally, the Kings of the Secret Nation possess a sixth sense attached to the energy signature that Vibranium emits, letting them know when it is stolen from Wakanda and where the thieves are headed.

This is a category where Black Panther actually surpasses Namor, although not by much. His abilities are more practical and of more use, which is why Black Panther wins this point.

Points: Namor 3, Black Panther 2

Namor vs. Black Panther: intelligence

Namor has normal intelligence levels. As far as we know from his comic book appearances, Namor doesn’t excel in this field, as he has regular levels of intelligence that don’t make him special in this category.

T’Challa is an eclectic genius and possesses an eidetic memory (aka photographic). His genius is such that he is considered one of the eight smartest people on Earth. He holds various degrees including a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Oxford. He also combined alchemy with science to create a new scientific field called Dark Physics, a dangerous discipline that allowed him to track down vibranium at the quantum level, fabricate weapons that are particularly effective against vibranium, and create an unstable teleportation device that all epoch tore apart anyone who used it.

As you can see, Namor cannot even come close to Black Panther in this category, as T’Challa is a true genius. This is why Black Panther wins this category as well.

Points: Namor 3, Black Panther 3

Namor vs Black Panther: fighting skills

Namor’s long lifespan and his involvement in numerous conflicts both submarine and human wars have guaranteed him a great deal of experience in hand-to-hand combat. Growing up, he demonstrated natural skills in both armed and unarmed combat and probably received extensive training in both. He is a master swordsman and marksman and is able to wield other weapons such as spears, but rarely does this due to his preference for hand-to-hand combat.

He was trained to be a warrior from birth. An expert in almost all forms of armed and unarmed combat, he is a master in all martial arts including African and unknown arts. He is a master of secrecy, disguise, etc. He is considered to be one of the best martial artists to have ever walked the earth.

This was evidenced as he was able to equalize and sometimes even get the better of hand-to-hand combat against the likes of Captain America, Devil, and Iron Fist. He was able to overpower Wolverine twice without much difficulty. He has been shown to be skilled enough to defeat seasoned fighter Karnak with a single headshot.

Black Panther ultimately wins the last category. First of all, he is more skilled than Namor, and secondly, he has sparred with the best. Namor is a respectable fighter but would lose to Black Panther.

Points: Namor 3, Black Panther 4

Namor vs. Black Panther: Who wins?

tech black panther

In one of our more exciting comparisons, we have finally settled the score between two bitter rivals from Marvel’s fictional universe and it turns out that Black Panther would win this one, although not as easy as you might think. Namor is physically more imposing as he has superhuman powers and abilities, but aside from that, Black Panther is a better fighter and is more intelligent.

Although Namor could ultimately use his strength to overpower T’Challa, we all know that brains are equally important in a fight, which is why we’re sure that T’Challa would come up with a good tactical approach to beat Namor in a fight. This is also reflected in our point-by-point analysis, and we can thus conclude that the winner is – Black Panther!
