Comparing the overpowered Saitama, the protagonist of One-Punch Man, with other characters is always fun. Whether it’s a comparison from his own universe, like the ones we’ve done (Blast, Boros, Garou, God), or some other fictional universe (like the ones with Superman, Gojo, or Goku), it’s always fun to see how Saitama would do against some other characters. This time, it will be a comparison from the latter group, as we will compare Saitama to Kratos, the protagonist of the God of War video game franchise, to determine who would win in a fight between these two very powerful characters.
Saitama fans will probably disagree, but in a serious fight, Kratos will defeat Saitama. Saitama has superhuman strength but no supernatural powers, and Kratos has proven to be powerful enough to withstand the strength of the Titans. On top of that, he has numerous weapons and divine powers which would easily put him above Saitama under any conditions.

Now that you have the short version of the answer, the rest of the article is going to be divided into three sections, with the first two introducing the characters, their powers, and their abilities. In the end, we’re going to give our final verdict and explanation on why Saitama, a.k.a. the One-Punch Man, would lose against the legendary Kratos in a direct fight.
Kratos and his powers
Kratos is the main protagonist of the God of War series. A Spartan warrior born in Sparta, Kratos was a respected soldier and general until he lost his wife and daughter to the deception of Ares, whom he then served. Once he killed Ares and gained forgiveness from the other Olympian gods, he became the new God of War.
Then Zeus betrays him, but Kratos manages to escape and decides to exact revenge on the God of Gods by bringing evil to Earth. After getting his retribution, Kratos fled to the Norse gods’ realm by residing in Midgard in pre-Christian Norway. There, he remarried Faye, who gave birth to their son Atreus.
The physical strength of Kratos, the demigod son of Zeus, is unmatched by any human or animal and beyond that of all other Greek gods, though its exact limits have yet to be established. His skills appeared to be charmed as a result of his assimilation of numerous godly abilities. With the use of these skills, Kratos was able to vanquish Titans, demons, magical creatures, and even the gods.
His ability to outclass the most powerful Norse gods, like Baldur and Magni, shows that his advanced age does not affect his physical prowess. He scared Modi by using the Spartan Rage. It appears that Kratos’ skills surpass those of Thor and Odin, two of the most powerful Norse gods, given that Kratos is implicated in Ragnarok to the extent that Odin fears the Ghost of Sparta.

Kratos is a very skilled warrior who is equally adept at using weapons as using his hands. He already possessed the necessary talents as one of Sparta’s most admired generals and one of its best fighters. Kratos becomes significantly more powerful after learning about his abilities and receiving training from the gods themselves, enabling him to dispatch many foes with ease and vanquish the gods.
His skills were unaffected by his advanced age, which allowed him to hunt monsters successfully and demonstrate his ability to dominate Magni and Baldur in battle.
Kratos has amazing superhuman power that seems to change depending on the circumstance. He can easily overpower the Hydra, throw down the Colossus of Rhodes after he tries to crush it under his foot and prevent Cronus and Atlas from crushing it. He can easily subdue and tear apart many large and powerful beasts and creatures, including undead legionnaires, infected humans, monsters, and magical beings, using only his bare hands. He can also easily rip off Helios’ head.
Kratos demonstrated his superior strength in a fight with Hercules, who was thought to be unbeatable in terms of strength. Kratos was able to put an end to Hercules’ pursuits, even knocking him back, and was also able to break free of his bear hugs and kill Hercules despite his brother’s invulnerability. He used brute force to defeat every other Greek god, always winning the physical battle.
Even though he is older in the Norse world, Kratos’ strength hasn’t diminished with age. He was able to easily snap a troll’s neck with his bare hands, lift, throw, and even smash enormous boulders, and eventually catch up to and surpass the strongest Norse gods like Baldur, Odin’s son, and Magni, the strongest of Thor’s offspring. Kratos’ main weapon prior to serving Ares was his sword. Kratos’ main weapons during Ares’ rule were the Blades of Chaos, which Ares gave to him as a token of submission. Essentially, they are two swords resembling Falchions on lengthy chains that have been permanently fused together and burned at the wielder’s forearms.
Following Ares’ death by Kratos, Athena replaced them with a pair of almost identical swords known as the Blades of Athena. In the God of War III video game, she did the same with the strikingly similar Blades of Exile. Kratos shows mastery over each of his weapons. This suggests that the ancient god of war, Ares, and other gods, taught him many combat techniques.
Kratos initially also commanded a sizable Spartan army, which he employed both before and after his service under Ares. Kratos appears to have lost every weapon he acquired during his quest for vengeance while in the Norse Realm because Zeus destroyed them all while they were engaged in combat. However, he chooses to conceal the Blades of Chaos under his cabin even though they are still in his hands. This is presumably his attempt to move on while still reflecting on the horrors he did.
Saitama and his powers

Saitama is an inactive young person who’s lost interest in life and who frequently fights mysterious beings to become a powerful hero. His main attack is the famous “One Punch”, a simple punch that can defeat very powerful enemies like the King of the Seas, Ashura Rhino, the King of the Underworld, a gigantic meteorite, and many more.
Saitama is blessed with spectacular speed. A ninja-like Thundering Sonic looks slow next to him. He can complete a 1,500-meter course instantly; even Genos’ computerized targeting systems have a hard time tracking him. He can use his speed to run vertically along a building to save a piece of salmon he intended to eat for lunch.
Even Boros in Meteoric Boost is slower than him. His basic speed is already sufficient to avoid the saber attacks of the famous ninja Flashy Flash. Saitama can take all kinds of impacts or flames without taking a single bruise. When Genos created a huge explosion by his Incineration to kill Mousmétique’s mosquitoes, Saitama stood beside him completely unscathed and unperturbed despite the heat of the flames.
To make him move, as soon as he decides to stay still, even a man as powerful as Suiryû has a hard time managing to make him move back a few meters with his Nebulous Fist of the Rabid Tiger. Saitama was as tough as an ordinary human when he was still a weak human. As an adult, he was able to get up with a nip from Crabotaur, a Tiger-level monster, and then attack him.
Saitama doesn’t aim better than an ordinary person. In particular, he has been wrong in his estimations, such as when he unintentionally punched Sonic in the genitals instead of only intimidating him. Saitama puts a little more effort into his techniques when using the Worship Streak Series. According to Boros, even so, he only shows a small part of his power. Still, the power at this stage is enough to outsmart a Dragon-level or even God-level scourge very easily.
Kratos vs. Saitama (One-Punch Man): Who would win?
And now for our article’s most important and interesting section – the analysis. Here, we will use what we have learned about these two characters and analyze how all these facts would (or would not) help them in a fight against each other. Let us continue.
The end result becomes completely clear if you just look at what Kratos did. Kratos has managed to destroy the complete Greek Pantheon, including the Titans, and has managed to defeat some of the most powerful creatures and gods from Norse mythology, including Odin himself. He is a master weapons wielder and has numerous supernatural powers besides being a former god.
What has Saitama done? He’s trained a lot. Sure, we cannot disregard the fact that Saitama had beaten the crap out of a lot of powerful opponents, but that was solely in his own gimmick universe in which he is a gimmick protagonist. In a serious fight, Saitama would simply not have anything that could harm Kratos, whose powers and abilities are truly amazing. That is why Kratos takes this one.
