Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 officially hit the markets on October 28, 2022, and Activision has ensured that it lives up to its stellar legacy of intense, action-packed FPS gaming. While there already exists a previous game with the same title and a few similar characters, the present version is essentially a sequel to the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot.

Who features on the Modern Warfare 2 Cover?
The new Modern Warfare 2 cover – featuring the iconic skull face of Simon “Ghost” Riley in a black uniform and a dark green bulletproof vest – has taken the gaming world by storm.
To make the reveal all the more exciting, Activision decided to drape a massive cargo ship with the Modern Warfare 2 cover image along with the game title and dock it in the port of Long Beach. While this expensive stunt did take over 24 hours to pull off, it did turn a lot of heads, just as it was intended to!
Who is Simon “Ghost” Riley?

The rebooted Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 cover marks the comeback of Simon “Ghost” Riley, the lone wolf who had been killed in action during the previous Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 game to Task Force 141.
For the uninitiated, Task Force 141 is an elite task force created by Lieutenant General Shepherd in the original Modern Warfare 2 (2009) to combat the terror of Zakhaev Junior, and they are back with their guns blazing!
The story unfolds with a U.S. strike killing a foreign general and the Terror Outfit “Al-Qatala” joining hands with the Mexican Drug Cartel “Las Alamas,” vowing for revenge.
Faced with a global threat, Task Force 141 teams up with Mexican Special Forces and the Shadow Company to carry out various tactical missions across the Middle East, Mexico, Europe, and the United States.

Irrespective of whether you order the digital Cross-Gen Bundle, the Standard Edition (PC only), or the Vault Edition, Ghost will not be sharing the Modern Warfare 2 cover with anyone else.

Who else is making a comeback in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?
While Simon “Ghost” Riley is undoubtedly the star of the game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 also marks the comeback of Captain John Price, John “Soap” MacTavish, and Kyle “Gaz” Garrick. A new character is Colonel Alejandro Vargas of the Mexican Special Forces who plays a pivotal role in aiding Task Force 141 in its fight against “Las Alamas.”
