On Monday, November 20, one fan asked in a thread: “What’s the reasoning for no games on Tuesday specifically (also no games on Thanksgiving Thursday, but that’s usually the case)?”
One fan responded: “I don’t know, it’s strange. I’d have thought they would have loaded up the holiday week, especially since there’s no NFL on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, they have 7 games tonight vs the Super Bowl rematch on Monday Night Football.”
Another wrote: “Good question OP.
“I’m gonna guess absolute terror at the possibility that another sports league has a minor event going on Tuesday.”
A third said: “Nhl scheduling s*cks this year.”
A fourth added: “I imagine it’s all been done to help with scheduling through the weekend.
“The NHL knows it cannot compete with NFL and even with NCAAF, so they do everything they can to avoid being in the same time slots.”
