What happened to the back button on Facebook?
In a recent Facebook update, users began to realize that their back button was not in its usual spot — at the bottom of the screen.
Instead, users had to scroll to the top of their page to return to their home screen.
While many are wondering how to get back the feature, users realized it has mainly affected Android users.
Unlike iPhones, Android phones have on-screen navigation buttons.

Facebook released its new update, Version 439, on October 31, 2023.
The new update may have taken a few days to update on Android phones.
To check if your Facebook app is the most recent version, users will need to go to the settings section on their phone.
From there, press the Apps & Notifications button, then the See All button, then next press the Facebook option, and lastly, choose Advanced.
There it will show you “Facebook version 439.0.0.1.117.” If it doesn’t, then it is likely you have an older version installed on your phone and probably aren’t experiencing this issue.
What have people said about the update?
As the new version rolled out, Facebook users took to social media to share their frustrations.
