Hey guys, L here. It’s no surprise that we won’t get a new chapter in about a week, but here’s a new blog I made just to pass the time. Enjoy.
Out of all the places that the Strawhats were respectively sent to by Kuma, myself & probably some of you may have wondered why he sent Luffy to the woman-only island of Amazon Lily?

One of the most logical explanations we have so far was for Luffy to earn the trust & respect of the Kuja tribe & their current leader – Boa Hancock by any means necessary. Which he apparently did by the end of that arc, with the unexpected side effect of Hancock falling for Luffy.
Another reason was to learn Haki from Rayleigh, who not only has connections to the Kuja tribe, but is also the husband of Shakky, the former ruler of Amazon Lily (2 generations ago)!
Speaking of former ruler, there’s still the theory I personally believe where Luffy’s mother was the Empress right before Hancock herself! But I won’t dive too deep on that topic.
And of course I could add the part where Luffy could have asked Hancock to help him save Ace as another possible reason. But at the same time, that was something Luffy himself had to choose on his own, and not exactly a part Kuma’s intention.

However, with the help of the Egghead arc, I believe we may have an idea on why Kuma sent Luffy to Amazon Lily in the 1st place! So without further ado, let’s begin!
A few chapters ago, when Bonney entered into the world of her father’s past, we’ve learned that just like Hancock, Kuma was also enslaved by the Celestial Dragons!
And we even of some panels & silhouettes to prove it.
Now assuming Oda decides to give us the full backstory of Kuma, it wouldn’t be too surprising if Dragon himself makes an appearance regardless on how long it will be.
And judging by what Kuma’s flashback offered, it’s my theory that his 1st encounter with Luffy’s father beared a small but effective resemblance to how Luffy & Hancock 1st met!
While I don’t know how it played out, I do believe that Kuma may have 1st thought that Dragon was no different to the very people who wronged him, just like how Hancock thought that Luffy the same as every other men she hated.

However, that all changed when Dragon performed a very selfless act which led Kuma to question his old point of view on others for the better. Much like how Luffy did when he prevented her secret past from getting out, and how chose to save Margaret & the others over himself. And just like how Luffy’s actions helped the Kuja tribe see him as a trustworthy man, Dragon’s helped create the friendship that he Kuma has until now!
As for Kuma & Hancock’s own relationship, I bet that in the past, Kuma once saw a bit of himself in Hancock, just like how Law reminded Doflamingo of his younger self. And if that were true, there may have been a moment where Kuma wanted to convince the Pirate Empress to join forces with the Revolutionary Army in an effort to topple the World Nobles.
Unfortunately, due to Hancock’s opinion on men at the time, and how it may put him & his friends in danger, he realized that such an idea would be too risky.
However, since Kuma was somehow aware that Luffy was the son of his friend Dragon, he decided to have Luffy meet the Pirate Empress as another method to inspire Hancock to help the Revolutionary Army in the battles to come! And although he didn’t live long enough to witness it for himself, we can say it was a well accomplished mission!
Well I don’t know about you, but what do you think? If you have any opinions on this topic then please tell me in the comments section below, and check out the links for more information. Thank you!
