Only last week, Meta announced that Instagram users could buy a badge to get verified on the app for a fixed fee. While the new feature is supposed to enhance users’ experience, the issue with highlights has only upset them.
Many users are panicking that they might have lost all the memories captured in it, claiming the feature has suddenly disappeared as of Monday, March 20, 2023.

Instagram hasn’t addressed complaints about the highlights disappearing for some of its users at the time of writing this article.
A number of them have made similar claims about the feature missing from the top of their profile, with some pointing out that the glitch is affecting highlights with music lyrics.
Some of them are met with the “This story is not available” error message while trying to access their highlights, while a few others are annoyed about new pictures or videos not getting added to their highlights despite multiple attempts.
However, these are not the same as Instagram stories, which only stay on your profile for 24 hours and can also be affected by similar technical issues.
Going by the tweets, Instagram highlights may be facing hiccups due to a technical glitch, which should be fixed sooner rather than later.

Several Instagram users who seem to be affected by the glitch are urging the app to provide them with an explanation, while others are hoping it returns to functioning normally at the earliest.
“Stop deleting half of my highlights folks, fix this. It’s annoying,” wrote one.
Another tweeted: “Why is Instagram deleting every single one of my highlights?”
“Am I tweaking or is Instagram deleting highlights? I keep trying to get them back and they keep deleting them. @instagram fix ts immediately, this is unacceptable,” wrote a third person.

Try these possible fixes
Sometimes, a glitch could also be a result of an app that’s not been updated or issues with the device itself. So, here are a few possible fixes for Instagram highlights getting deleted.
- Delete the app on your device and re-install it. Log in to load the highlights again.
- Make sure you have updated the latest version of Instagram as the app constantly rolls out new updates and features.
- Check your Internet connectivity as poor Internet reception can cause features to load slowly.
- Contact Instagram support or customer care if the issue persists.
