Does Nezuko die in Demon Slayer?
Yes, by the time the Demon Slayer manga ends in chapter 205, Nezuko Kamado has sadly died; however, fans will be comforted knowing that she actually dies of old age, rather than in a battle against either Muzan or an Upper Rank.

In the final part of the Demon Slayer story, Tamayo is able to synthesize a medicine using Nezuko’s special blood composition that slowly turns her back into a human. Unfortunately, this was the most vulnerable moment for Nezuko since the opening episode of the anime after Tanjiro attacks her, raging as he has also been turned into a demon.
Nezuko tries desperately to hold off her demonic brother as he attempts to eat her, even suffering a nasty arm injury from which she is unable to regenerate; however, Kanao is able to inject him with the medicine used on Nezuko to turn him back into a human. Nezuko and Tanjiro return to the Butterfly Mansion where they live until old age.
Demon Slayer then ends with a significant timeskip forward several generations of the Kamado family; Nezuko has already died of old age, but at least she got the opportunity to enjoy a healthy and long life as a human.

How did Nezuko survive the sun in Demon Slayer?
While it is never specified in the Demon Slayer manga why Nezuko was able to survive the sun during the Swordsmith Village Arc, the most likely theory is that this is because she never consumed human flesh and comes from a lineage of Sun Breathing technique users.
Throughout the Demon Slayer story, Nezuko is able to resist the urge to consume either human flesh or blood, which is a key component of what makes up a demon’s powers. Granted, she goes into a berserk-style frenzy on numerous occasions as the temptation grows; however, her inner battle against these cravings would have been the last straw against giving in to Muzan’s influence and subsequently, his weakness against the sun.
That being said, arguably the more prominent factor in how Nezuko survived direct sunlight is because she comes from a lineage of warriors that used the Sun Breathing technique such as Tanjiro’s Hinokami Kagura.

This technique was the kryptonite against Muzan for centuries before either Tanjiro or Nezuko came into the world, which means that there has been plenty of time for its power to affect the genomes of its users. This may also be why Nezuko’s Blood Demon Art resembles a fiery inferno, i.e., Nezuko can ignite splashes of her blood to a temperature that burns fellow Demons.
Overall, whilst the exact reason why Nezuko can survive the sunlight is never revealed, it is most likely due to the fact that her lineage involved the Sun Breathing technique, her Blood Demon Art is fire-based, and abstaining from eating humans.

Does Tanjiro become a Hashira in Demon Slayer?
No, despite season 4 of the Demon Slayer anime set to adapt the Hashira Training Arc in which you would expect our lead character to become a Hashira, Tanjiro Kamado never actually becomes one of the Demon Slayer Corps’ highest-ranked warriors.
Tanjiro’s training is interrupted when Muzan launches his final attack against the Demon Slayer Corps and after the battle has concluded, the organization is disbanded.
By this point, Tanjiro has proved himself to be amongst the most powerful warriors in the group and would undoubtedly be promoted to the rank of Hashira has the organization continued.
However, with the threat of the demons eliminated for good, there is no need for the Demon Slayer Corps and consequently, the Hashira, to continue; meaning that Tanjiro never got the chance to become a fully-fledged Hashira, despite being on the same power level as his former mentors.
