I’ve been with U.S. Cellular since I got my first cellphone in 2002 and I loved them. They were based in Chicago and had amazing service. I even had reception when I was underground in the red line. WIN! My calls seldom dropped and even though I travel a lot, I was good wherever I went (at times when folks I was with had no service). Their cons were they didn’t have international data plans and their phones didn’t use SIM cards so they were specific to the company. I didn’t mind, doe.
Then last year, Sprint bought out all of U.S. Cellular’s Chicago customers to expand their network. I hit my *wall slide* so proper that I buffed my wall clean with my body. I knew a change was coming that I wouldn’t like. Fast forward to May 2013 and U.S. Cellular customers are told that we NEED to switch networks because our phones will basically become bricks by January 2014. I waited for as long as I could and in October, I decided to go with T-Mobile. I think what tipped the scale for me was their new international data plan that wouldn’t cost extra.

Plus, I surveyed my Facebook friends and many were like “GO WITH T-MOBILE!”
I did.
And for the past 2 weeks, I haven’t received MOST of my calls. And text messages? HA! They come in twice a day in spurts. Like hours of radio silence and then all of a sudden, 10 texts come through out of the blue. On Thanksgiving Day (yesterday), I received 0 calls and 1 text message until 11:30pm when 7 text messages all of a sudden came in.

I live in Chicago by the lake in a mid-rise. I got windows. I use a Samsung Galaxy S4. And my phone shows that it has 4 bars at all times. PLUS T-Mobile’s coverage map said my zip code is “EXCELLENT.” Yet my service is like I’m in a New York subway. Oh. The only times I get calls and text messages like normal is when I’m out of my house.
I WORK FROM HOME! HOW IS MY PHONE NOT GON WORK IN MY DOGGONE HOUSE?!?!?
So many people have told me they’ve called me and my phone went straight to voicemail. Or that it rang but it SURELY never reached me. Chile, I’ve called T-Mobile no less than 4 times in the past week and I keep getting the run-around. I’ve talked to supervisors, got support tickets open and still, here I am.
They told me they could send me a signal booster but it’ll take 10 business days. TWO WEEKS?!? I can get a whole Apple computer customized and assembled from China in a week. The hell you gon take 2 weeks to send me a signal booster for?
T-Mobile is literally losing me money because I can’t even conduct business on this janky phone and janky service.

But what just took me over the rage edge? AT&T sent me a phone to test out. They Next Day Aired it so I could get it before the weekend. I just got an email from UPS (another terrible company) saying I missed them. Why? BECAUSE MY T-MOBILE PHONE DIDN’T RING TO ALERT ME THAT THEY WERE DOWNSTAIRS!!! And this means I’m basically without a functioning phone for another 3 days because delivery won’t be attempted til Monday and I can’t go pick it up.
I. HATE. EVERYTHING. A plague of black licorice on T-Mobile’s houses. They are the Voldemort to my Harry Potter. Gahtdamb phone dementors.
My level of pissitivity is through the roof right now because I’m basically carrying a fancy brick. Don’t call me. I’ll call you. (-_-)
Are any of you with T-Mobile and have you experience this? Also, what phone company are y’all with and are you satisfied? Because this is that ol’ boolsheet! I am so mad!
Update: I got the signal booster and I’m FINALLY getting calls and texts in my house. VICTORY. I guess I’ll keep em. >__>
