So basically Genshin Impact gets a lot of hate throughout the gaming community calling it a “BOTW Ripoff”, or “Genshit Impact.”
I would actually like to breakdown why it is usually looked down upon by the gaming community.

A popular reason why Genshin is usually hated is because others think Hoyo copies off of other video games and/or animes like BOTW, DMC, Bleach, etc. I personally think this reason is complete bullshit, though genshin did take some noticeable inspirations from BOTW, but its biggest inspiration was Gnosticism. Even then Anime-like games were a thing before BOTW came out, like Honkai Impact. The whole DMC thing comes from the Musou No Hitotachi and Vergil’s Yamato. They do share many similarities, both being powerful weapons being able to cut through space and have similar movements, like in the Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto boss fight And the Judgement Cut from Vergil.
Although these weapons are incredibly similar, the issue is that these both still follow the concept in video games and other forms of media known as Danmaku or known as bullet hell which has existed before any of these games even came out. The Bleach thing is not too big and easily debunkable as the fatui harbingers are not even copies of the Espada, the harbingers took inspiration from the Italian play Commedia dell’arte. The only thing they are similar in are how they are ranked and that’s literally it, Antagonist groups existed before bleach like the Akatsuki from Naruto, The Phantom Troupe from HxH, and the Homunculus from FMA (off topic, but I highly recommend to read/watch FMA, it’s best Animanga I have ever consumed)
I did also notice that most people who hate Genshin are usually MGRR and DMC fans, most of those fans never even played Genshin or even their own game. (No offense to anyone who plays any of those games, I love DMC and MGRR)

“Genshin has no Story and the characters are bad”
I won’t go in depth with this since there is no need to. Genshin impact as a game is not even done yet, so why judge an entire series when it isn’t even complete, As for the characters, not every character will be well written or need to be well written, there are characters in Genshin who are well written and some who aren’t but just because a character isn’t well written, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy them. Many series have characters that aren’t even well written but people absolutely adore them.
Now This concludes my little analysis, I could break it down more if you all want to, but let me know your thoughts.
