Why Is Hisoka So Weird

I can see why people would assume he is a psychopath. He shows some signs when it comes to his disregard for human life; But I disagree. I see someone with a severe addiction. He is fixated on the rush he gets from fighting, and the pleasure received when he is and someone else are putting their life on the line in battle, This could have started from a very young age maybe and thats where we are seeing the weird child fascination. It’s hard to imagine the circumstances that could have born a personality such as his, but it is a TV show after all. Maybe Gon reminds him of someone he killed once as a child. One thing is certain, he can no longer feel strong pleasure anymore unless its in a battle of life and death. When he is fawning over Gon, he is actually envisioning the amazing rush he will get when he can fight and emerge victorious and kill him, He seems to have very little desire for material things or for status and power (They make a point to show how weak and pathetic the Mafia are because they clamor for such trivial things) and the top Nen users are not like that. The truly strong simply take what they want, when they want. I would argue Hisoka is not a true psychopath, and respects life, to the extent anyone with near GOD level power could. (ie. You don’t go out of your way to kill an ant, however you wouldn’t really care if you accidently squashed one) Some of the good guy Hunters aren’t like that, but lets be honest most people with their level of power would be bad guys, power corrupts.

In the entire show Hisoka is never shown to kill anyone who didn’t willingly put their life on the line. (mafia, hunter examinees, villains, battle tower fighters). He doesn’t show cruelty or sadism or the desire to torture and hurt people. He simply either removes you as an obstacle, or sees you a distraction from the boredom of being one of the greatest fighters existence.

TLDR: Hisoka is addicted to the thrill of glorious battle, and like any good addict is lining up his next high (Gon). He is absolutely sure of his skill and in his own mind will never lose, he will do anything and everything to feel “alive”. The weird pedo vibe they give off isn’t sexual in nature i’m 90% sure, but is related to an experience he had as a child, perhaps the beginning of his love for battle started as his age and Gon clearly resembles someone he knew, or possibly himself.
