Treacherous driving conditions are expected to continue overnight as a winter storm could drop up to 14 more inches of snow on the Front Range foothills, according to the National Weather Service.

Interstate 70 was closed in both directions throughout the day as a winter storm dropped several feet of snow along the Front Range mountains and foothills, causing crashes, spin-outs and hazardous driving conditions.
I-70 will remain closed to commercial vehicles between Eagle/Vail and Morrison until noon Friday, the agency announced just before 1 p.m. Thursday.

Interstate 25 over Monument Hill may be closed for safety concerns Thursday evening, according to CDOT.
Citing the current storm track, state officials issued a travel alert around 12:35 p.m., asking travelers to be prepared for highway closures and extended delays and to have food, water, blankets and other needed items in their vehicles.
Drivers can expect hazardous or impossible conditions in the mountains, foothills and Denver metro through Friday morning, according to state transportation officials. Road closures are likely on I-70, I-25 and U.S. 285.
A 33-year-old man was arrested after ignoring a road closure on U.S. 40 over Berthoud Pass, evading police and later crashing into a snow plow, according to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.

The man evaded a Grand County sergeant who tried to pull him over after he failed stop at the road closure. The man later crashed into a snow plow that was attempting to shield other vehicles about 5 miles east of the Berthoud Pass summit, according to the sheriff’s office.
The man tried to flee on foot and was arrested on traffic charges and an unrelated arrest warrant.
Colorado road closures for Thursday, March 14
- I-70 in both directions between Eagle and Morrison for commercial vehicles until noon Friday;
- U.S. 6 in both directions over Loveland Pass due to avalanche recovery after a natural slide overnight;
- Colo. 9 in both directions over Hoosier Pass;
- U.S. 287 southbound near Aspen Park;
- Colo. 127 is closed in both directions between Colo. 125 and the Wyoming state line due to a crash;
- Colo. 14 in both directions between U.S. 287 and mile point 61 east of Gould; and
- Colo. 46 between Colo. 119 and Golden Gate Drive.
