I was speaking with one of my clients recently who told me that it seems that her ex has actually been trying to make her jealous. It was definitely working and she wanted him back more than ever before, but didn’t quite understand what was going on. He had clearly told her that he didn’t want to be with her anymore. So was he just being petty? Or did he secretly want her back?

She asked me, “Why is my ex trying to make me jealous? I’ve heard that people do that when they want someone to miss being with them… So is this his way of trying to make me ask for him back? I don’t get it.”

Truth be told, an ex that is trying to make you jealous isn’t always doing it because they’re trying to make you want them back. I’ve written this article for you today in order to go over the different reasons behind this type of behavior, and what you can do about it!

Why is my ex trying to make me jealous? I thought they didn’t care?

We often make the mistake of thinking that the opposite of love is hate, but that’s not the case. The opposite of love is actually indifference.

At this point in time, you’ve noticed that your ex has been doing things with the intention of making you jealous. You’ve noticed that he or she is posting pictures of themselves with attractive members of the opposite sex, they’ve been flirting with other people in front of you, or they might have even started talking about their recent escapades with other people with you, when they know that it wouldn’t make you feel very good.

They might be trying to make you feel like you’re missing out by not being with them anymore. It can also be to make themselves feel better and to boost their own ego. No one wants to be the one that is less happy than the other after a breakup.

We use social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook to showcase our lives, and we try to make our lives look as fantastic as possible. This is especially true when we are unhappy. We often want things to look better than they actually are.

How to know if your ex wants you back when they’re trying to make you jealous

It’s just important to keep a healthy balance because you don’t want things to get out of hand. If you’re planning on getting back together with someone, it shouldn’t be simply because you don’t want them with anyone else. Possessiveness can damage the connection between two people and emotions should not be toyed with.

When the trust between two people starts getting damaged, you have a problem.

I’ve worked with so many people struggling with these types of issues, and I’ve noticed something that I’d like you to take a moment to think about. Perhaps it will strike a chord with you, perhaps it won’t, but sometimes a person’s imagination can run wild.

They can start imagining their partner in scenarios and they can get really upset thinking about something that’s not even happening! It can just take a picture on Instagram of your ex with someone else… People daydream and fixate, and their thoughts can get carried away. So, the next time you notice this happening, turn it to your advantage.

Try to create positive daydreams. Imagine your ex in situations that make you feel good! Use your imagination to make you feel better… not worse.

Start practicing awareness. Think about what the reality is, and what the current situation is. Focus on positive moments. If you know for a fact that your ex is trying to make you jealous, take the high road and don’t give in. Focus on yourself.
