Check for Obstacles in the Viewfinder
The most common culprit behind motion detection issues on smart security cameras is obstacles in the line of sight.
In the case of doorbell cameras such as Ring, the case can be even more common considering the constant activity around doors.
Motion detection in Ring cameras utilizes the heat signatures of the objects that are in motion in the line of sight, so anything that blocks the heat detection hinders the motion sensor.
Even something as simple as a transparent glass hood covering the Ring Doorbell camera or specks of dust can result in motion detection issues.

- Press and hold the setup button for about 10 seconds to initiate the reset process.
