Manually Place the Vacuum on the Dock station

  • Sometimes the vacuum cleaner can’t be set properly on the dock station, so place it manually.
  • Also, clean the brushes of the vacuum so that it can easily go to the charging dock.

Check the Power Supply

  • Make sure that the dock station is plugged into an active power source.
  • If the power outlet is cracked or burnt, then plug it into another power outlet.

Clean the Charging Points

  • Sometimes due to dirty charging points, the vacuum doesn’t charge sufficiently.
  • So, clean the charging points with a soft bristle brush or cotton cloth.

Check the battery condition

  • Occasionally, the dead or damaged battery causes charging issues.
  • Therefore, to check the battery condition, power off your vacuum.
  • If it is not turned on, then the battery will be dead.

Reboot the vacuum

  • Sometimes issues may occur due to internal glitches or bugs.
  • Hence, you can reboot your vacuum by removing the dock power cord and turning off the vacuum for at least 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • After plugging back the devices and turning on them again.

How to Clean the Charging Points?

The Shark robovac has two metal contact points that fit with the metal plates on the charger. The battery can only charge when these pieces are in contact. But sometimes they aren’t able to make contact.

You need to clean the points along with the metal plates. When the robovac starts charging, the battery indicator on the vac will blink. To ensure the robovac is charging, you can check the LED lights. Some other troubleshooting methods are as follows:

Check the Charging Dock for Damage There could be something wrong with the charging dock, preventing it from charging effectively. To check the charging dock is on and working effectively, a green light should be lit up from the side. Ensure to plug the charging dock into a working electrical outlet. Without a stable source of power, it won’t work.

Try plugging the dock into a different outlet to see if it’s working, then. Ensure to place the dock where there are no obstructions around it. It requires three feet of space on either side. It also must have a space of five feet in front of it. Now, the shark robot won’t charge issue should be eliminated.

Check/Replace the Battery. If the shark robot won’t charge issue persists, you need to check the battery. You can take out the battery and ensure it’s working fine. You can clean the battery and place it in properly again.
