The CD/download product sold at the TurboTax website has full retail price. In early filing season there is a slight discount, but it’s no longer in effect.
You can often find the CD at a discount in stores, such as Costco, Sams, electronics stores, office stores, Target, etc. Or a CD or a download at authorized reputable download sellers such as Amazon, Staples, Office Depot, etc.

When comparing prices for Deluxe, be aware that Deluxe comes in 2 different versions-one that is Federal-only and one that is a combo Federal and State. The Deluxe sold on the TurboTax website is the combo version Federal and State. That being said, you may be able to find the combo version (Fed and State) cheaper at a local store or authorized reputable online seller. Just be careful which version of Deluxe you are buying if you need a state return or not.
The Online version of Deluxe has separate charges for a Federal return and a state return. Online Deluxe is $60 for a Federal return and $50 for a state return, but efiling is free and included in Online TurboTax. Be aware that if you choose to pay the fees out of the Federal refund, there is an additional $40 service fee ($45 for California filers.)
Online Deluxe is also limited in forms and schedules. For example, it cannot prepare Schedules D, E,F, or C with expenses, or enter a K-1. In contrast, desktop Deluxe (CD/download) can handle all the usual Federal forms and schedules.
